WHAT WE DO
We are changing the way we work
Each year, we invite a cohort of people with lived experiences to participate in our training, which includes a variety of communication, technical, and social training opportunities that will set people up for success in the workplace. The trainees are then matched to help deliver one of PEOPLE’s contracts with a local employer.
We work with future employers:
We identify and work with organizations where people with lived experiences will add to the organization’s service offerings. We then provide those organizations with the supports they need to ensure their relationship with people with lived experiences is positive and meaningful.
We work with future employees:
We provide new employees with training and opportunities for meaningful work and equitable pay.
HOW IT WORKS
For Organizations:
PEOPLE supports your organization in identifying and creating roles for people with lived experience. We help find ways to ensure the individual(s) will contribute to your organization’s purpose in a meaningful way. The contract you will enter into is with PEOPLE, which means:
- We take care of the employment processes – this reduces your time investment.
- We create a customized set of services, including adequate onboarding and organizational readiness adjustments to support your organization and your staff so the relationship thrives.
- We offer wrap around supports, including supervision, mentoring, and peer to peer interactions to help each individual working alongside your team to thrive in the work environment.
For individuals with lived experience

PEOPLE recognizes your experience is your resume. We’ll work alongside you to boost your experience with job specific training to suite your interests. This could include providing mental health first aid training or helping you build communication skills and conflict resolution skills.
We work hard to create the right partnership with employers and provide you with living wages appropriate for the position. Once you are employed, our team will mentor you and provide you with ladders of opportunity and ongoing training.
